This. I wrote a long post about this exact issue in another thread. Russia has a well-educated populace. It was one of the few nations that could have created an offshore center impervious to Western leverage. It could have focused on science and technology, as well as natural resource development.

Putin could have done so much for his people had he simply embraced capitalism instead of cronyism and corruption.
What do you expect from an ex KGB soviet glorifying guy

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/wor...tutes-are-the-best-in-the-world-a3443261.html
He basically wasted Human Capital and Natural Resources for a two whole generations by now lol. Russia could have been everyhing the US is and better due massive oil and gas resources but nope lmao

There are solutions to replace this fucking gas, its called heat pump and I use one for over 10 years. Next I'm gonna install solar panels and cut the energy bill in half.
But people go cheap when they build new houses, they like cheap Russian gas and now they're in deep s**t.
Do you work for a heat pump and solar panel company?

Russia was before this war started already a deranged aids infested third world country
Only Putin wins in his delusional neo soviet mind.
There are only two things worth reading in your post to realise why whatever else you say, is going to be nonsense. See them both above.

If you go to Yandex since you are probably a Russian troll for 10 cents an hour

Exactly

The russians are winning nothing, they losing big time in a long term run. The russian army is maybe winning battles (or even the war) but the country itself will be even more fucked than before.

This is exactly what I mean by saying Russia is losing the war.

As regards the gas sources diversification, this is for sure a great gift from putler to Europe. Finally, Europe woke up and realized independence from Russian gas is what matters.

Lithuania sensed that many years ago, also was screaming to Europe but nobody listened yet.

We also had full of pro-russia trolls who were fighting inside the country against this gas-independence. Trolls are everywhere, but Lithuanians got used to it. Most Lithuanians think rationally. This is why Lithuania now has a ZERO effect on russia's blackmailing on gas. I am pretty sure my homeland would have ended up the same as Poland or Bulgaria, if not even faster.

Poland has a population of 37.95 million; Lithuania has a population of 2.8 million.
So, switching from Russian gas to LNG is a pretty easy task for Lithuania and has nothing to do with rational thinking.

All this bla-bla of energy independence is irrelevant because no country in Europe will ever be independent to that regard. They just switch their dependence from one bad actor to another.
The price is high in any case:
  • Option 1 = Buy energy from a puppet master which just started a regional war. In turn you have low energy prices with which keeps the economy running.
  • Option 2 = Source energy from far away by outdated mode of transportation (ships which are all but environmentally friendly) and pay other bad actors far away from your homeland.
  • Option 3 = Reduce energy consumption to a level that can be produced "at home" (solar, wind,.coal, nuclear in the case of the EU) which in turn means to stop producing for export. It would catapult Europe back to the 19th century.
Well, looking at these options should teach a lesson why it is wise to keep a balanced view and stay neutral.
Bad times ahead .... .

"I think Europe is well on the way to energy indpendence." Notice these people never put a time frame on it. Do we mean 1800 days? 3456 days until we get there?

It was not "pretty easy" and has a lot to do with rational thinking.

At first, there was a referendum so people could express their voice (something different compared with Russia, nobody is faking results there). Once people agreed we need to have liquefied natural gas terminal and this way be less dependant on Russia.

It will be the same easy for the rest of Europe, only a time is needed and I expect it won't take too much longer.

LOL, that's the way I heat my house. I don't like gas/petrol or other polluting stuff. When my IONIC 5 and Tesla Powerwall arrives this summer I'll be 100% off fossil fuels.

All this bla-bla of energy independence is irrelevant because no country in Europe will ever be independent to that regard.

Energy independent no, but high energy efficiency is possible. There should be laws that every new house is energy efficient, heavy taxes on polluting cars and industries.
Oh, and we can use bicycles to move around small cities, electric cars, and public transport. Just our leaders are retards.

No, and you should know that!
It is a difference if you want to change something in a country with a population of 2.8 million or if you want to to the very same in a country with 37.95 million. Rational thinking!

Btw., with all this war propaganda it seems that environmental aspects are suddenly no longer important.
Bruxelles and it's command center Berlin are now working on importing LNG from the other side of the planet to avoid paying to the puppet master. Let's see what future generations will have to say to this environmental nonsense to transport LNG with stinky ships across the Ocean.
History judges hard with shortsighted strategies.
Oh, and we can use bicycles to move around small cities, electric cars, and public transport. Just our leaders are retards.
Fully agree. Just that the electric car is not needed. Simply skip the car altogether. I never had one and am for sure older than you; proof enough that private cars are redundant. ;)

You must come from Russia, where such numbers look intimidating. BP is the only one that looks fairly large compared to its yearly revenue. And these companies get huge tax write offs for such losses.

Someone posted an article earlier about Russian prostitution, where women go crazy because they can earn 15,000 rubles in a single night -- or the equivalent of three days normal pay in Russia. That is only $ 200.

Your posts just continue to demonstrate how Russia is really just a third world country. With mindless military aggression, it certainly has a third world mentality.

Golden Fleece. Why do the Azov Battalion where patches of this guy on their uniforms? Roman Shukhevych - Wikipedia

I thought they weren't Nazis???
How many times do we need to discuss this issue? Your own web link says, quite explicitly, that he "was a Ukrainian nationalist." Nowhere does it say that he was a Nazi.

In fact, all Eastern European nationalists allied themselves with Germany during WWII to fight against their oppressors (the Soviet Union). Go back and read my long posts on this very topic.

This is basic history that anyone in Eastern Europe knows about. Anyone would have sided with Germany over the vicious, inhuman Soviet scum.

You need to brush up on the Nachtigall Battalion. Although I suspect you already know all too well what they were part of, but will continue to push your pro Ukraine anti Russian agenda regardless.

So does this justify russia invading ukraine lmao
Sure it does. If you wear the wrong patch on your arm, you need to expect a Russian invasion.

If you store more than one bottle of vodka in your house, you need to expect a Russian invasion.

If your refrigerator contains leftover borscht, you need to expect a Russian invasion.

If your country merely borders Russia, you need to expect a Russian invasion -- for almost any reason.

But it has nothing to do nearly 500 years of cruel military aggression and cultural oppression by Russia.

Yeeaaa let’s start burning Russian books and banning Russian music. And Russian language of course. And letters Z and V. Also no Russian sportsmen and artists should be allowed to perform any longer.
Oh it’s already been done? thu&¤# Now I feel so much freerer and smarter!
