Best asset protections options in 2024?

Are there any reputable and recommended firms you know of that can help set up a Lichtenstein foundation?

For the German-speaking market, I believe a guy named Geirhake is the guru. Probably expensive though.

I assume you mean it wouldn't work when I'm not using local banking? F.e. if I would use a Seychelles or Nevis foundation and get a bank account there (yes, I know it is hard nowaydays), I assume that account is fully covered right?

I don't know how this would work, but probably a local court or the local tax office could still rule that you have to hand over that money. They could simply say it's your money, so the situation would be the same as if you had an account in your personal name in that country and you just refused to hand over the funds.

No matter how many times I am sledgehammered in the face with this reality, it STILL shocks me that these "public servants" don't look in the mirror and realize or come to grips with the fact that they are thieves/criminals in the "mala in se" sense of the word! stupi#21 cry&¤

Do you by chance have any link for their website ?

Unfortunately, I can confirm that this practice is constantly used by the tax authorities and other agencies. It is up to you to prove that things are not as they seem, or else they just take the money.

If I were you, I would look into alternative options to protect my money.

I see they only take clients with a minimum fortune of 3 million euros.

I'm not sure if it makes sense if your net worth is less than that. I don't know their prices, but I believe it's usually at least $15-50k to set up, and then $15-25k per year.
Probably they will charge more since they have a big brand, as far as I know.
In any case, as mentioned, you'll want someone who can advise on the laws of your jurisdiction. There's no point in paying for a setup that won't work for where you are based.

That's very true and important to pay attention to. You're totally right.

This probably depends mostly on where you live. You should speak to an asset protection expert specializing in your country.
That's easy to say, however, such firms are not easy to find, you can find all the cons - but real asset protection experts are difficult to find!

#Bingooooooooooooooooo! 100% this! I agree with this 100%! I've been disappointed in these "results" for decades.

When I was trying to set up a residency in Zug to run a CH trading company and simultaneously remain in Monaco with my primary residence there and whatnot, I was told all kinds of things at every meeting I attended for 6 years (2008 to 2014) —free meetings ONLY by ALL kind of experts with ALL types of "titles/degrees/diplomas, etc., etc.," Still, the most prevalent one was that it would cost CHF5M and take 3 to 5 years. Getting rulings, blah blah blah. BS after BS, I knew they were making up as they went along. I NEVER disclose my complete education (which is bulls**t anyway), except I tell them my bachelor's of science is a dual major in electrical & computer engineering (without really mentioning the US as that scares the living bejesus out of banks).

I hung around Zug like a jaded cop. Eventually, I walked by in front of Aabachstrasse 1, saw the name of the building and just walked in WITHOUT an appointment. A lovely lady helped me. I explained my situation. She called a "supervisor." He called a friend at the Steuerverwaltung, who told me to come by. I went, we talked, we agreed on everything we discussed, and he gave me the paperwork for "Besteuerung nach dem Aufwand." I signed them. The next day, I went to pick up the ID card with the letters "AUFENTHALTSTITEL." The End!

It's the high-priest ruse that +99% of "pundits" use to create a taxable event for their buddies at "governments" and fatten their own pockets at the same time. Warren explains that here:

That explains why, you should thoroughly go through your plans if one is dealing with a fortune under 3 million euros; the administrative fees should ideally justify the goal.

How many retirees checked their portfolios and had a heart attack this morning?

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway ($BRK.A), Bank of Montreal ($BMO), and Barrick Gold ($GOLD), have plummeted 99% in seconds, "but Bitcoin is too volatile".

I am in the same mindset as a solo parent and my child is also on the spectrum.
He is smart but autism people don't see bad in others so can be gullible and believe easily.
I too have been seeking solutions to set up something for him. There are trusts with the aim to take care of a child with special needs.
BUT the major factor is finding a reliable person to manage it. Even celebrities get their estate stolen, so who are we to think differently.
Holland has a foundation, Belgium has no trust law.
Off shore route should work as many families have trust funds set up but I am not in the millionaire category. And maintenance costs will eat up what is there to protect.
I found this file on trust registration worldwide. https://taxjustice.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Trusts-FATF-R-25-1.pdf
The key is if you put the assets in a trust or foundation you must give away the control to avoid tax sanction, here you must find the right guardian.
