I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would put their crypto in the control of an organization (who are arms of the government). Just use your own wallet, it's not that damn onerous!

I like how the button on that page is "Protect my Bitcoin". More like "Endanger my Bitcoin"
we have a few generations of "adults" who think their money is a credit/debit card and consider cash a boomer thing
most people have no sovereign money, nothing but a credit created by the government - you're delusional if you expect these specimens of homo domesticus to mentally switch to self-hosted money and take over the responsibility for it - existence of any solution (especially non-custodial) improving this sad status quo is a positive thing despite we would never use it ourselves

Yes, and what I find amazing is that all this information from cards and store loyalty cards is sucked into servers 'the cloud' and available to anyone who wants it. All this, despite being told that privacy is very important. The privacy issue is not so serious now, but it all sets a legal precedent for further abuses in the future. I've more or less stopped trying to talk to younger relatives about this. Their eyes glaze over. We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Phone location on, smart TV connected to internet, face recognition cameras, Alexa and Google listening. The future is going to be such fun!

Proton promptly cooperates with the judiciary. Of course they don’t keep all the information forever, like in this case and like any other company. Don’t expect to find any sort of privacy protection in your beloved Switzerland.
