I would add in general and in Mauritius in particular, you should look for a banks that also retail customers use - I.E. banks that the LOCALS use. MCB and AfrAsia are banks that locals use. I think Bank ONE is also one of these.
These banks tend to be of lower risk because they have low risk customers (and not only shady offshore corps) and if there are problems the government will bail them out.
Banks that are strictly offshore and no local ever uses (like I *THINK* ABC for example but not fully sure) are higher risk because if it fails the govt won't give a f**k about it and will just let it fail in many cases. Same goes for Belize or many other jurisdictions.

It took over 6 months but finally opened a business account with ABC. You do need an introducer (I ended up using Sovereign). I can't fault ABC so far. If anything they are sticklers for precision.
