So who even thinks about Czechoslovakia not existing for 32 years; we can just say it still does, Trump style, lie and lie for God's sake, and then lie again.

Good for some. Bad for others.

Overhyped by both groups.
I swear to god, your posts are the main reason I still read this forum.
0% hype, 0% propaganda, 100% factual advice with the occasional spicy meme sprinkled in. Please keep up what you're doing.

And to prevent this from being an off-topic:

Judging from Trump's history and 1st term, he will do great on foreign policy but will not solve any internal issues as he's not a great politician = he's not great on finding common ground with democrats and actually bringing bi-partisan legislation.

I expect less wars, more stability and stock market will probably go up.
I give 75% probability that Ukraine war ends within the next 12 months.

What would you do to find common ground with the democrats? Only put tampons in 50% of men's bathrooms as a compromise?

Republicans have the Senate and the House now, and they have a huge mandate to carry out the policies they ran on based on winning the popular vote.

The critical thing is who he puts in positions. Last time, he had too many neocons and weasel-like war hawks who are very much part of the deep state. I keep seeing Mike Pompeo's name thrown around; if he's involved, I lose some optimism. There's also the fact Adelson gave him $100m so does that impact the middle east? Probably.

If RFK can handle health, Musk can clear out all the waste and pen pushers, and you get someone like Douglas Macgregor on foreign policy and military, then it could be great.

Basically, if he fills his team with who the woke crowd label as conspiracy theorists, nazis, misogynists, threats to democracy etc. He's onto a winner.

This is a very important discussion we are having; however, I don't believe it will change anything or that we are facing doomsday just because Trump has come to power. He has already done something very positive; the crypto market is rising like crazy, which is a welcome development.

The rest, in my personal opinion, is merely an indication of how corrupted this world is and how incredibly uninformed many Americans are.

Yes, many Americans also believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows. I thought it was an ongoing joke, but it turns out to be true. I don't understand how the global population can seem to become less intelligent with each passing day.

If we are talking about events outside the USA, I'd agree

But what specifically, by electing Donald Trump, did many Americans show they are uninformed about?

I hope you're asking this question solely to keep the conversation going!

A man who lies from morning to night and knows nothing about politics or society in America gets elected as president. That says more about the people who voted for this person than words can explain. I completely agree with the others here.

The way it has been predicted in Germany, it will do significant damage to the German car industry, so Germany risks falling into an even deeper recession. BMW, Mercedes, and VW will all become American-German.
German car industry already started moving to the US - it’s reliant on cheap energy from Russia and demographics - Germany no longer has both and both can’t be sorted within 10 yrs thus Germany is and will be the sick man of Europe going forward.

The real power players on the continent will be France and perhaps Italy if it can / does invade North Africa to take control of and secure its own energy supply

So, as usual, there are no specifics, just broad claims of "liar, felon, a threat to democracy", etc.

I find it pretty bad that he lied about working at McDonald's, though. There was no record of him doing so. Oh no, wait, that was the other candidate!

Perhaps his lack of political career and knowledge of how to be a politician is an asset. He's undoubtedly a threat to their bureaucracy. But in your opinion, what doesn't Trump know about politics that he should?

And what doesn't he know about society that he should, in your opinion?

buddy, you're talking non-sense, visit these countries and you'll understand that nothing like this is possible....
why? before the nice little man Adolf came to town people may have said the same! Now he is replaced with a tall white man with a blond comb-over to camouflage his balding forehead and plenty of bronzer on his face so he looks like someone who eats too many carrots!

The only thing I’ll give Trump credit for is choosing Elon Musk as the head of his DOGE office. I hope the purpose of the Doge office is something they can achieve and that it might even influence many countries in Europe

The fact that he is putting pressure on the EU (so far only talk) and the other NATO countries, I think is great. At the same time, I think it's cool that there is finally someone who is completely different and uses government strategies that no one else has dared to use before. Trump has also ensured that the entire crypto market has almost exploded upwards.

And the man isn’t even president yet.

In two months, we’ll see what happens and how the world looks. Putin is prepping the nuclear button, Trump is rising to power, and the Chinese are waiting with some strategy to take over global dominance.

It’s going to be quite entertaining.

What strategy are the Chinese employing for global dominance? I don't see that from China. They have 1.4 billion people at home to keep together...

Just wait, the Chinese have never been foolish, and they’re masters of dictatorship. I imagine Trump will somehow ally with Russia and China so they can strategically dominate the world together, while the TikTok generation doesn’t even notice what’s happening.

I know they're not foolish. That's why China has never pursued any insane foreign intervention policies. I don't think people realise China has it's own internal economic challenges and it has a long history of taking a non-aggressive military stance.

As I said, Xi's first thought when he wakes up in a morning isn't how can I pursue world domination as I'm a master dictator, it's how can he keep a country of 1.4 billion running.

Well its clear that Trump wants Ukraine war to be over so he can be friends with Russia [if they allow him] and focus on slowing down China's rise. Problem is China and Russia are linked. Russia is not gonna be pulled away from China a major customer. What you will see from Trump is a raft of actions aimed at trying to cripple China which will all 100% backfire after initial shock factor of any action taken.

Oh and when I say shock factor you can expect Trump to perhaps try to cut some major Chinese banks off from Swift and perhaps de-list some Chinese companies from US exchanges like he did last time. You can expect more tariffs and actions that will lead to inflation in US if China retaliates which will see US farmers harmed etc etc. Basically after the initial clapping and cheering at Trumps actions reality will kick in over confronting China. Ask Javier Milei how things are going with his anti China stance and how long that lasted when reality kicked in....lol.

Argentina's Milei pivots to pragmatism in first talks with China's Xi after shaking up the G20

Anyway hopefully Trump can skip hardship step he will inflict on US public by confronting China and instead make the smart decision to encourage Chinese firms to setup and produce stuff in America starting with automakers. Otherwise US will be isolated if you force countries to choose between blind friendship with US and trade relations with China, hence why tons of banks have joined China's CIPS network for payments and more join everyday ;).
