I don't think you need to replace it. You can have both at the same time. Having the IDL allows you to get the Thai license without any tests. That should workIf you have a savings account the bank pays you some interest while they withdraw a % for tax. You can claim a TIN to get a refund since you are a tourist. Maybe that would work.
