After long searching, it seems that Thailand doesn’t give out residence permits?

I am a Russian citizen, with a business abroad, currently living in EU. I want to move to SEA.

Problem is, if I move to SEA, I need residence permit, because my company will prob get closed and no bank will take me.

I don’t have funds to invest, only a bit of regular income.

Any options for Thailand? If not, what else in Asia?

As far as I understand, these are Employers of Records, and usually they quote $350-600 per month, which is out of my budget.

Whats your budget then?

Maybe someone else can suggest a place in Asia that will meet your budget .

If you are interested in a work visa in Thailand through an Employer Of Record I might be able to help you.

I have some contacts here, are you looking for getting a permanent residency or citizenship in the future? Or you want just work visa that can be extended indefinitely.

Try looking into Iglu, they might help.

But since you say $350-600 per month is out of your budget then in this case, I would say give the new DTV visa a try.

It allows you to stay up to 5 years and the best solution for the digital nomads.

You can probably forget about the EOR route. The provider takes a cut and then you need a minimum salary of $2k or so, on which you will also be paying 10-15% tax, or something like that.
Maybe try Malaysia? I know many Pakistanis move there, they probably don't have a lot of money.

It was $15K for citizenship in KH in 2000, but you won't find this deals anymore. It went up to $30K, $70K, and I think it's somewhere between $150K-300K with greasing all that palms now.

The Chinese have inflated the prices (it was easy to buy land in own name this way, so pretty much all that real estate developers have gotten it), and I don't think the OP can/want afford it.

You can get naturalized for just an admin fee though, not just in KH, but even in TH (after living for long enough there, language test, etc.).

unfortunately you will have to raise your budget because this is close to the real price. 600 seems overprised though but 350 is very real.
Up to 1-1.5k annually, I thought its reasonable for a permit
extremely unlikely. although there are visa services who "hire" you into a shelf company and give you a work permit, but there is a high chance of an unexpected consequences.
to be safe you will need to open your own company, and it costs the abovementioned 350-600/month.

They don't give residence permit for opening a business
yes, they do not give an instant permanent residence permit. to get one you will have to reside in the country for 3 (AFAIR) years, provide proof of paying taxes and demonstrate knowledge of the Thai language.
but if you do not need exactly a PR then opening a business will get you a temporary residence permit which could serve some purposes, for example some KYC services accept work permit as a residence permit.
