I am currently resident of Sark (have been for last 3 years), about to move house on the island to a larger property.

My current rental will go on the market very soon, thought I would offer it hear first if anyone is interested in moving to 'the rock'....

Small rentals are hard to find as many people rent then travel most of the year, plus lots of new interest in Sark...

The property is a 2 bed log cabin, you could live in it all year round but it's the perfect 'lock up and go' total cost is circa £10K per year.

Not bad for nearly zero tax (all taxes), no minimum stays and you can move here with a British passport straight away.

PM me if your interested.....

Moved to correct section of forum.

Does it require a UK passport to relocate there straight away or would other EU passport work?

I think… dive deeper and carefully before choosing Sark or similar options. A Short stay in Sark in any year where you then have longer stays in other countries in the same year or rolling 12 months means you need to check carefully the fine print of the tax laws in those other countries you stay longer in. Various other countries eg IoM Cyprus etc will certainly give tax residency on short stays like Sark, if you satisfy certain rules, as long as you don’t allow yourself to get caught in any other countries tax net. If you make a mistake then you want a DTA to help sort out the mess but Sark and similar very low tax island options have very few DTA’s. So they are not a safe option for the uneducated unless you are ready to put in the research or pay for it for all jurisdictions where you spend more time and then always be very careful to avoid their traps. The UK is just one example of a country where they have their own way of counting days for tax residency. Maybe you think your income is so low no tax office really cares, but these days ignorance is not a defence if they decide to look at you. When I say “ you” I don’t mean the person who started the thread .. I mean anyone reading it generally who might not be aware of wider tax nets these days.

we've been looking forever would love to learn more
