I would go up to say that Graphene OS changed my life, from being constantly annoyed that my phone was listening to finally feeling relatively safe to not be listened on.

I would love that they implement an independent hidden volume on startup, depending on which password you input. Veracrypt style.

Also on the downside, all profiles have access to the simcard info as far as I understand (as it is an Android feature), allowing apps installed and "segregated" under different accounts to make a link that they are actually installed on the same phone I suspect. Do you guys know a workaround on this?

easy to say but what do you suggest? I have 27 banking apps installed at this moment and zero time/motivation to play with each and every those to make it work in the emulated environment

I have zero banking apps installed.

For most banks I have a hardware device (tell them you don't own a smartphone). For those that don't provide one I have an app on my phone which helps me authenticate (a second factor) when I login to the website on a PC. I refuse to install the actual banking app on my phone though. Too much of a security hazard.

Me neither. Funny how open source crypto wallets are safe while banking apps are malware.

Don't use online banking on a phone. Giant security threat.
I would give you a dislike for that useless comment if you was not right.
yes, you are correct, one should not use banking on a phone. but this suggestion is useless because out of all my bank accounts just about 1/5th still have the web version, 4/5 switched to a mobile app only.

is to possible to have multiple isolated instances of the same app (not knowing about each other and sharing any common data) and running them at the same time?
like couple of whatsapp apps with different identities or banking app to represent two persons - Android 14 has the App cloner for this which is very convenient
it depends on the app. Whatsapp does work in a separate profile, some banking apps check the user ID and force you to install them into the main profile.

you've just changed the Big Bro. now you are listened by the GrapheneOS developers not by Google.

the only working solution is to use multiple phones.

80% only app? What banks are you using? This sounds horrible.

There are no good reasons to trust Google Android,
Google Mobile Services you mean? GrapheneOS is nothing but a Google Android with some patches and Google servers changed to GrapheneOS servers in various phoning home functions.

various joke financial institutions from the third world countries like Russia or Lithuania.

ALL - and I mean really ALL of my current banking providers abolished their web online banking.

Their Yubi keys, electronic code cards and other login solutions which they sold me just few years back
are useless now, and the banking apps are the only way to access banking outside of going to a physical branch.

My main issue is that they don't allow installing the app on a second device; if you want to use it on another
phone, you have to go back to the branch to get it 'verified' in their system. And their app on the first phone stops
working then - you can only use it on one and only device. Yeah, I tried - speaking from experience. That's why I try to avoid traditional banking if I can, too many issues, not secure enough and not convenient at all.

Why don't you use a laptop or desktop then?

You can keep optional reporting disabled in the case of crashes or bugs. The system is open source so this can be verified as true. Google is closed source and you can't verify anything they claim. And in any case, Google are quite open about tracking and recording your activities. It's nothing like swapping who listens to you.
