@bizniz, when you say you set the Dutch CV with an offshore company, are you referring to incorporating it with the assistance of a service provider specialised in offshore matters? You can form a sole proprietorship in NL, or a limited partnership (CV).
Remember UK is cheap to set up but afterwards the compliance costs are high.
I set up a CV in Netherlands with an offshore company as one partner and an EU resident individual nominee (Portugal) as the other and it is working great so far. It is tax free in NL provided there is no local income and it has a far better reputation for banking than Scottish Limited Partnerships etc. I opened EMI and Stripe accounts without any problem.
Do you remember how much it did cost to set up& run on a yearly basis?
If I wanted to start an investment fund/hedge fund, do you see any advantage/disadvantage between the Scottish limited partnership and the Dutch equivalent --beyond ease of opening a bank account?
Thank you for your time
