Dubai - First Audit Request From DIEZ

It’s standard for dubai silicon oasis companies. Fill it out. You will never hear back from them. Me and all friends I have here did it and no one ever got a reply back.
Do they accept only DEWA/rental agreement as proof of address for UBO, or can I send a bank statement/utility bill as well?

Greetings,

I received the DIEZ audit request. I don’t live in the UAE, and my company hasn’t had any activity for 2 years. I have another paid year and don’t want to lose it. Can I still pass the audit?

Are there penalties for not having accounting records or audits from DIEZ? What’s the worst that could happen?

I can’t really answer this and also don’t want to give any advise that cause Problems.

Have their been money generated ever since with this company? Kindly explain a bit more and I try my very best to give you an answer but again: I am not a lawyer so it’s just my „opinion“

They do

Well, it's been several months since we sent off the documents to DIEZ and today we received some pushback, namely on the UBO/Shareholder's proof of address. We originally just submitted the original lease agreement which expired 11/2023. Additionally, there was a request for the signed UBO declaration to trade authority - this one should be easy. We currently do not have a lease agreement for the Managing Director, what did others provide for this?

Is it acceptable to just say that currently the MD is searching for a new place of residence, or was there a prerequisite for a place of residence in Dubai as part of the incorporation?

No idea. When did you provide data? Kind of the only person I know who they came back to

Weird. I know ppl who submitted even earlier and non of them (including me) ever heard back from them.

I think it is not mandatory to have a place in the uae. I would let them know the the ubo is currently looking for a new place or left the country for some months and will return in … let’s say 4-5 months.

Chances are high you will not hear back from them.

I've received the email the 24/04 for the pre inspection and today I got an email with the object "1st Non-Compliance Warning" saying that they never received anything (which is not true. I've sent all the documents within 24h and wrote a follow up email asking for the missing template + confirmation that they received them) and like everyone else I never got a reply. Now they issued me a 1st time non-compliance warning saying that if I do not submit within 30 days i will get 2x 15.000AED fine.

What I'm mad the most is that I fear that now my company is "tainted" because of non-compliance which is not true.

Anyone else in the same situation?

Can anyone suggest what did they use for "Signed UBO declaration submitted to the registered Authority."?

I don't recall submitting anything to the authority
did you go directly with ifza? its a one page on the ifza application form. Idk the page number, but its one more at the end. Screenshot that one page from the application form. It states smth like "the shareholders are Ubo according to listed percentages".

Otherwise your agent has it, or you can simply send the agents invoice with your name on it in case the agent is non-responsive/cooperative.

I provided them with the lease agreement as well as the form that you fill out initially with the UBO details and company name choices etc (was in my emails with the initial correspondence with IFZA)

They accepted it and sent me a message saying that I'm all compliant now.

Were you able to obtain the UBO declaration from your agent, or did you reach out to IFZA directly regarding this?
