Since Coinbase has changed their platform and it is now apparently no longer possible to pay with crypto without having a wallet or connecting your own wallet to them, it's time to switch.
Since we are forced to switch to their new platform, there weren't really any other options.

Are there other crypto payment gateways that allow you to pay directly with crypto, and not only BTC but also USDT, LTC, etc.?

We are looking into:
https://nowpayments.io/https://bitpay.com/https://www.coinpayments.net/
If there are others or you have experience with one of the mention, feel free to post here please.

They have been working well for my business around 8 months on clock payouts also with larger amounts.
automated payouts or you have to request it ? still happy?

We have been doing fine with crypto cloud so far, payments are coming as requested, but they are done manually hence you need to wait for someone to transfer the coins.
bit no go, you should not have a human to decide when to pay your coins, it's like banks do, it's a no go.

yeah in the long run, no other solution than a self-hosted one will work. Unless one is selling vegan donuts in the neighborhood.

there are crypto payment gateways that are able to make direct payouts and they are not self hosted. But you are correct, self hosted means full control.
the issue with non hosted solutions is they ultimately will apply the same kyc as normal banking to the merchant and in a later step to the client.

does any of the listed require KYC ? @roger ver
All besides coinremitter have aml/kyc . But I wouldn't trust coinremitter , this guys posts only consists of adverts for it .And they spam reddit/forums with the same texts which doesn't seem like a trustworthy way of pursuing marketing. And also their platform is custodial.
