I am wondering what would be a nice tropical place to live for someone looking for high quality of life - meaning real estate in decent quality, safety, nice restaurants, good flight connections, interesting people, OK healthcare (or short flight to better healthcare).
It seems like most tropical places have rather poor infrastructure outside of the tourist resorts, people are poor, real estate is mostly low quality.

But maybe I'm wrong?

Kuala Lumpur maybe?

I used to be a big fan, but recently started liking Bangkok more.

Interesting=rich?

Not necessarily, but poor, uneducated locals = not interesting.
In Bangkok, for example, you can find lots of entrepreneurs. But there's no beach.
I'm still thinking that the UAE probably has the best combination of interesting people, good infrastructure and beaches, but the air quality isn't great and real estate is overpriced.

It depends on your budget and on your organization skills.

Not sure what that means.

How about any non assuming place in the phillipines?

I actually haven't been to the Philippines yet - mostly because I associate it with trash, poverty and crime. But maybe I should give it a try.

I'm particularly wondering about places like Carribean islands or the Seychelles here.
Since SBF lived in the Bahamas, it can't be all that bad? And @Martin Everson lives there as well, according to his posts.

Have you considered Mauritius? Anyone have any experience with residing there (temp or perm)?

Sad to hear that.

good infrastructure
That’s a given if you want to survive in the desert
and beaches,
Have you ever been on a real beach?
but the air quality isn't great
But you can receive good healthcare in a local hospital when you get sick thu&¤#
and real estate is overpriced.
It’s called free market.

No Amazon, no Uber, no Glovo. Many “uneducated” people. Not for you.
Or Fiji. Are you just picking random islands?

Good example of an interesting, educated person. Btw, The Bahamas are much more than Old Fort Bay.

but you would still have to find him :p

Ps Technically, half of the Bahamas is outside the tropics and the whole country is not in the Caribbean Sea.
