Trump Says Will Sell 'Gold' Residency Permits For $5 Million

Totally agree. Government will change and will change the program
it will be a big bust for those
@Aetherial the EB-5 will be replaced by this. Instead of $800k/1M now it's $5M and you get the trump face on it, that's it for now, if they aren't able to change the tax system for territorial taxation.
Ultimately it's fair to ask $5M I guess for such a big market.
Put $5M on the plate, a business plan to "create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs" and you're in, no matter where you came from.
$1M was easy. At $5M you're starting to screen the candidates more thoroughly.
Keep that business going and you'll have a path to citizenship.

If you're from a friendly country and want to do business there, you still have the E-2.
~100/200k gets you in? BUT the E-2 is a nonimmigrant visa, so it has no path to citizenship!

Then DJT goes like:
"we'll be able to sell maybe a million of these cards, maybe more than that" rof/%
he never lies... he tells half truths... he just forgot the "in the next 100 years maybe" part...

as the EB-5 ($1M investment) supposed figures for this year are:
"In FY2025, a record-breaking 4,608 EB-5 visas were issued in Q1 alone, a 90% increase year-over-year. This brings the total number of EB-5 visas available in FY2025 to 18,786"
so the whole "we're going to sell millions of them" is just marketing BS.

I mean, just do a $50M CBI scheme, sell them the american dream, give them a golden passport (real gold) with trump face on it and feed these people to the IRS beast and 3 letter agencies for life ;)

to be worthwhile it should include
1) tax exemption
2) presidential pardon
They can't even change CBT to RBT like the rest of the world. US citizens are shunned by many investments and banks due to this. Even living overseas it's a death trap to file away and pay accounting firms for every form filed even with no taxes due.

To stop EB5, it would have to go through Congress, a lengthy process that doesn’t guarantee a majority vote. The only option is not to extend EB5 past its 2027 expiration date, but the program has been around for 35 years and is beloved by Democrats and Republicans alike. I would be surprised if it were replaced entirely. Essentially, this golden visa is just EB5, but a simpler and more expensive option. Eb5 was announced to be adjusted for inflation after 2027 so maybe that's how they make it seem fancier and more interesting, if they end up replacing the program. Anyway I agree, it's all marketing and a lot of charade for a disappointing visa. Fair enough to charge 5 million though, as there are still plenty of people who idolize the US. And they'll pay the price regardless.

As with everything that Trump says he will do or claims to have done:
1. It won't get done
2. If it gets done, it will be done in such a stupid and random way that it won't work.
3. Even If it does work, it will get reversed the moment that Democrats win the next election, because he doesn't know how to legislate and actually work with other people, all he can do it write "executive orders" that the next president will just wipe clean on his first day.

Examples: Tariffs, DOGE, building a wall, deporting illegals, etc etc etc and the list is endless.

So true. I reckon about 50 millions Indians will sign up by for it, as the rate Trump is going $5m will be worth around 500 Indian Rupees by 2027.

With the way people are protesting now, I doubt 2028 will make him win.

I am more concerned if America can make it to 2028 in one piece hi%#. We less than 100 days into Trumps 4 year presidency and not sure how long any golden visa will last the way things are going.

Interesting article written in January 2022....lol.

Expert predicts potential US civil war, fall of democracy

Canada’s on edge. It’s becoming increasingly alarmed that its closest neighbour – the United States – will soon be consumed by civil war and devolve into fascism.

“By 2025, American democracy could collapse, causing extreme domestic political instability, including widespread civil violence,” warns Canadian political scientist Professor Thomas Homer-Dixon. “By 2030, if not sooner, the country could be governed by a right-wing dictatorship. We mustn’t dismiss these possibilities just because they seem ludicrous or too horrible to imagine.”

His evidence is in plain sight.

Republican congressional candidate Noah Malgeri has called for the execution of General Mark Milley on live television. That’s insurrection.

Millions of armed militia threaten to seize power if Donald Trump loses the 2024 presidential election. That’s civil war.

Combine that rhetoric with a nation of 330 million people, 4018 nuclear warheads, 485,000 troops, 165 armed militia groups and more than 400 million firearms in the hands of civilians – and any neighbour is bound to be nervous.

And that’s Canada’s neighbour.

“Today, we live in a world where the absurd regularly becomes real and the horrible commonplace,” says Professor Homer-Dixon. “The US is becoming increasingly ungovernable, and some experts believe it could descend into civil war.”
