Hi!

Could someone please advise a good tax lawyer/accountant that is specialized in Paraguay's tax laws? Has to be physically based in Paraguay as well. Not migration/residence permit specialization, specifically TAX law.
Could be a company or 1 person if you used his/her services and were happy.

Thanks in advance!

Do you know them, have you been working with them or how comes you recommend them ?
They are super friendly and helpful. Had a long discussion with them about the residency and potential business ventures in Paraguay. Have not yet made may way to South America since they joined OCT to meet them in person.

Oh thanks for the advice. That means I have to restart the whole process again.
It is very likely. However, they are not consistently enforcing the 3-year rule, so it is not 100% that your residency will be canceled. Since you missed the 3-year rule three times, I would say 80-90%.
If you want, you can reach out to me in the DM. Maybe I can figure out your status in Paraguay.

I think I have a cedula from them. It expired in 2023

Most likely, it will be cancelled, and you will have to go through the residency process again if you want to drop me a DM with the number of your cedula and name. I will try to check.
I met many people there who told me they are living over there for 20 plus years without a citizenship and they had running businesses there. Especially from city of Cuidad del Este.

Well that was an ultimate goal to get one . Then I gave up after their rants
I'm not saying it is easy to get one, but 20 years living here (being integrated into society), having business here, and having connections—I don't see how they got rejected unless they did something bad in those 20 years or the application. It is a bureaucratic nightmare, so maybe their lawyer went above his pay grade.

Lol so many people did something wrong? Some of them had even Paraguayan wives. The lucky ones got it early in 2012 when that firm TDV was working with a certain German lawyer. Then suddenly news broke out about the whole thing. I am pretty sure you know about her too.

I have an old client who has been a Paraguayan resident for maybe 10+ years. Clean record, wealthy guy.
He has gone thru several Paraguayan lawyers (and paid big fees) to get his citizenship/passport in the last 3 years... In short, he has been unsuccessful. Does anyone know of any foreigner (who doesn't really live-work-have a business or wife there, but does the needed visits, etc.) received a passport in the past 5 years? That window seems to have closed! If you know of any outfit who can really get the job done, you should contact me privately. Peter Taradash. PS: My client can pay, but due to past experience wants a contingent fee. Maybe the money can be in escrow.
