Trump Says Will Sell 'Gold' Residency Permits For $5 Million

It will be interesting if US economy tanks because of Trumps actions. Maybe then Trump will add selling digital nomad visas for ordinary folk to keep money coming into the economy. Maybe even accepting crypto as payment for digital nomad visa's if they really get desperate - he got the crypto folk around him to make it happen smi(&%. Anyway Trump won't consider this right? ca#"!

I never thought living in USA would be that beneficial. Many us citizens gladly exchange you their citizenship for even 500k if it was possible
I do business with the USA every day, and 90% of all the money I’ve ever earned comes from the USA. I’m quite sure that if I lived there my business opportunities would increase 10x.
Not that I need it, but it’s tempting.

If making more money is unnecessary, why would you settle somewhere for - better - business purposes?
Money is just a byproduct of business.
Or do you mean quality of life in some US states is acceptable/tempting for you?
Quality of life can be good. Dealing with the IRS and other agencies is not.

You don't need to aqquire citizenship or residency to take advantage of the US. In fact, most purposefully avoid it if they can and don't need to be in the US full time.

You speak as if Trump is in control of anything, he is not, he is a puppet of an oligarchy. His goal, or the goal of his handlers, is lower rates. The current fed is of an opposing party, he will not get his way, his attempt at instigating a recession of downturn with sanctions to do so will not be successful. The US's hegemony is long over, the tariffs are exposing this further.

Errr...what has Fed got to do with what I said...lol?

I agree. We are seeing the death rattle of the US empire. Guys only been in office 3 months and we got over 3.5 years left to go of his antics.....lol smi(&% I never thought so much damage can be done to US reputation, international relationships and possibly soon economy in just 90 days or so...lol.

Anyway lets see how it plays out with his Golden Residency policy. All I am reading now is that Germans and other nationals and being detained or denied entry over apparent strict border controls. Does not sound like a welcoming place any more.

It was one German homosexual with a drunk driving and drug conviction, despite the media hysteria implying otherwise. Like everywhere else, if you have a visa or residency you are effectively on probation and violation of laws or the conditions are grounds for revocation. The US is actually enforcing the laws as written for once. That’s the only difference. Long overdue, in my opinion. A consistently applied legal code creates certainty in the business environment, which I expect will settle down once the initial disruption from tariff talk and government cuts is past.

The demise of the US is very much overstated, as usual.

If you’ve done business both in the US and in other countries, you know. I’m currently getting quite an education with my venture in Serbia.

The fed has everything to do with Trump's policies. The goal of his and his handlers is lower rates. In every capacity he needs lower rates. So in essence robbing his work boot wearing hick worshippers. The US's change of focus from NATO, re-approaching relations with Russia, and border security would've been the same under any administration. In fact, Trump has had the most open border, more open statistically than Obama and Biden. Presidents (puppets) change, long term focuses don't.

The golden residency policy is literally a nothing burger. Nobody mentions it or cares about it. In fact, the limitations of the HB1 visa program is more detrimental and is the topic of complaints from Silicon Valley.

There is absolutely no change in the ability for visitors from tier 1 countries to travel to the Unites States. The article is BS. Nobody is getting detained. There is no stricter border control at normal ports of entry. If a person is detained it's for good reason.

Quality of life is very vague. In almost 99% of cases quality of life in US is very low, despite marginally higher salaries, which when adjusted for PPP are peer or even less in most cases than those in the EU. There is no culture, no social cohesion, abhorrent infrastructure, the vast majority live in monotonous suburbs that are purposefully designed to be isolating, far from city centers (for maximum oil consumption), and to force focus on consumerism and consumption.

This isolation and suburban hell conveniently ties into the food industry and subsequently big pharma and healthcare. There are 2-3 cities that are livable due to being designed largely by Europeans, are international, and have compared to the rest of the country some level of social cohesion in terms of education and socioeconomic status not to mention outsized opportunity.

There are quite a few incorrect statements and incorrect assumptions of preference in this post.

Actually no there really aren’t I spend half of the year in the US in NYC, my statements are quite accurate including data, if anything there is a comical anti-EU (including Swiss) bias on this forum due to cope and lack of actual financial freedom versus fact, but that is a different topic

Your assertion that purchasing power is less than in Europe is absurd. I’ve seen how the average European and the average American lives. In the US, salaries are higher, costs are lower, and overall taxes are lower (albeit the IRS is considerably more complex to deal with so compliance costs might be higher). That’s just the average. At higher ends of the income range it does not scale linearly or in a correlated way across countries, e.g. income $X in the US midwest vs. US northeast vs. London vs Cordoba vs Pattaya. Your earning potential is likely to be higher in the US regardless.

The US has culture like every other society on this Earth. It’s American culture, and you might not prefer that, but it is a culture.

Social cohesion has been corroded over the past decades, but such is also true in Europe. It’s just not as far down the path. The reasons for this corrosion are, unsurprisingly, the exact same in both places.

The federal government is dysfunctional and difficult to deal with, but many of the state and local governments are quite responsive. Infrastructure likewise varies based on location and can range from poor to good.

You assume everyone prefers an urban lifestyle. What you call isolating and monotonous suburban life, I call peaceful and relaxing. I can still drive a few miles and access anything I want or easily catch a flight for something different.

Consumerism/consumption is a choice. Diet is a choice. Fitness is a choice. It’s not an inevitability based on where you live.

You sound like a miserable cuck, which high net worth figures? Simple Google search answers that clown. I’m not on Reddit actually, bad guess, enjoy your 9-5 and 50% tax you have maybe one jurisdiction left you can take your likely affiliate marketing profits out tax free in Europe
I think people are really fully convinced and agree with your views after you curse them out

There is also one fundamental difference in policing between the US and the EU that impacts perceptions of travelers. In the EU, most often police will keep the city centers secure and push the undesirable elements out towards the suburbs, giving you situations like TBM and the congregation of miscreants at Centrale coming in to commit their misdeeds in Rome or, in Bologna, Bolognina (which isn’t as bad as it used to be, but still), or infamous La Canada outside Madrid. In the US, the police keep the suburbs secure and push the undesirables into the city centers. Most US cities have “good sides of town” to live on, consisting of blocks of outer suburbs that are better kept compared to inner city areas, which will consist of small areas of gated and secured apartment blocs and historical infrastructure like stadiums surrounded by slums.
