As some of you may know there are voices that Russian Gov is forcing every business to get a .RU domain in preparation of unplugging Russia from main internet.
They are urged to do so before March 11.
This is pretty interesting as the last big talk at WEF (World Economic Forum) was about a global cyber war. And Russia was there too.
https://cyberpolygon.com/

There've been many talks about the consequences and even simulations of a doom scenario.
Many big groups were at the talks: Microsoft, IBM, Interpol, Ernst & Young, Visa. Trend Micro.
Last year partners were TASS (Russian state news agency), NTV, Sberbank, TInkoff, Mail.ru and many others.
Here a report with Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Klaus Martin Schwab, Founder and  Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum:

The only way to stop the exponential propagation of a COVID-like cyber threat is to fully disconnect the millions of vulnerable devices from one another and from the internet.
All of this in a matter of days.
A single day without the internet would cost our economy like 50 billion dollars, and that is before considering economic and societal damages. Should these devices be linked to essential services, such as transports or healthcare.
COVID-19 was known as anticipated risk, so it the digital equivalent.
Let's be prepared about that.
The time is now.

And also C-Levels of ICANN were there, that handle the security of some ROOT Domain Name Systems. They fear the doom scenario too:
With that in mind, allow me to propose a hypothetical: What if the L-Root was targeted by a massive denial of service attack. Let's say the traffic is 50 times the current global amount root DNS traffic. We certainly wouldn't want to stop serving the DNS from the L-Root, nor would we want to see that traffic impact any other of the 12 root servers.

Now, lets consider a perfect storm. Imagine that during this denial of service attack, some smart hacker discovers a flaw in the DNS software, or even an operating system exploit.

This possibility worries us a great deal. Which is why we are actively taking steps to ensure something like that never happens, and even if it does, we're prepared.

Klaus Schwab, founder and Executive Director of the WEF and architect of the “Great Reset” describes the crisis scenario as follows:
The frightening scenario of a comprehensive cyber attack could bring a complete halt to the power supply, transportation, hospital services, our society as a whole. The COVID-19 crisis would be seen in this respect as a small disturbance in comparison to a major cyberattack.” (emphasis added)
Jeremy Jurgens, WEF Managing Director:
I believe that there will be another crisis. It will be more significant. It will be faster than what we’ve seen with COVID. The impact will be greater, and as a result the economic and social implications will be even more significant.” (emphasis added)

The implications of these bold “predictions” which represent the interests of the financial establishment are far-reaching.

What they describe is a scenario of economic and social chaos involving the disruption of communications systems, the internet, financial and money transactions (including SWIFT), the power grid, global transportation, commodity trade, etc., as well as likely “geopolitical dislocations”.

Do you think we'll be unplugged off the internet soon?

World - no.
Russia - probably.

In case russia going to be north korea #2, for sure it would be impacted for almost all world for some time, but russia is not heart of the world and world could easily be with isolated russia.
Just remember ussr, it was isolated mostly from the another countries and it didn't stopped world.

It won’t be an Internet disconnection rather than a “safebox” like in China. They want to prevent western cyberwar and infowar, and they will always exchange IP traffic with the rest of the world. Neither Iran and North Korea are disconnected, but they lack the technology for a complete nation-wide firewall.

When you say infowar Alex Jones comes to mind...lol smi(&%
