The IMAGE of an offshore company does it matter?

I've been reading lots of good information here and there but it brings me all down to what will my customers think if I tell them to contract with for instant a Seychelles, Belize or Panama corp?


Is it legit to do business with a Seychelles or any offshore company?

Depends on what business you are into, I don't believe that a Seychelles, Belize or even Panama corporation will hurt your business if you explain your customers what it is about. Some businesses would even appreciate it.

Second that, however, if Image is a problem I would defiantly look into a Cyprus company, worst case will be you to pay 10% corporate tax while you have a legit business no one can claim to be fraud or "looks bad"

For investment or holding companies I don't think it matters but for trading companies it will make a difference if the company is located in the Seychelles, Panama or Belize OR for instant in Germany.

For me it dosen't matter but for some it may... if it is a problem you simply register a cheap UK company for £50 and let the offshore company play director and shareholder there...

I think it matters at least in may case.... I'm still researching about the best offshore country for my business, so far it seems Cyprus is the most legit looking from all but only offer 90% of all what a real offshore company has to offer, for instant you need to maintain books, file tax on a annual basis and some other time consuming stuff.

For most business activity the offshore jurisdiction matters, if it don't look or sound to scary it is better in regards to contracting new business.

I agree to that, we are looking into the exact same thing and due to image problems I think we will choose a Cyprus or Malta corp.

Who are you doing business with if I may ask? Actually we have no problems at all with any business part in regards to our choice of offshore company. Actually they don't care at all it is the service we provide that count's.

It depends on the situation of each business what may be the best offshore jurisdiction or even low tax jurisdiction for the purpose of the moment.


There is no one fit all solution for this type of tax optimizing!
