Taiwan Personal account?

I'm hearing that in Taiwan it's possible to open bank accounts (may require registering for a local identification number though)

Any experiences with them? I know in the past they also opened for classic offshores but now not anymore..

Obvious pro is that Taiwan didn't sign CRS ..

I think Taiwan is an interesting option on several counts ... however from what I hear it is getting a little harder to do.
