Hello!

I have been happily using Skype as my phone number for 2 US brick and mortar banks.

For 60$ a year, Skype gave me a US landline number. Any 2FA works as a breeze. None of the banks I currently use allow me to pick another option for 2FA: only SMS or calls (calls usually guarantee a better success rate, SMS to the Skype number appear to be less successful).

Now Microsoft announced they're taking down Skype, and the only guidance they give is: "contact your new carrier". So they (understandably) do not point me in the direction of any other carrier where I could migrate my number.

Do you know any providers where I could migrate the number?

I'd like to avoid purchasing a new one, and I'd prefer migrating it, as changing the details in 2 different banks is a bit of a hassle, especially as I'm not in the US right now nor do I plan to be there any time soon.

The provider should be reliable for 2FA with US banks. I need the landline for nothing else, really.

Thanks for your ideas!

Hi

there is a specific tmobile app for iphone for buying esim (prepaid tmobile), that will install the esim on the iphone and will create the monthly suscription, dont know if it is available for android. While I applied and put my US billing details and payment method I was using a VPS with US IP. You must use a US credit card. Ive being using it for 2-3 years with no problems, and paying with the Amex Platinum that give you back 10$ monthly on mobile services, so its free to have it.

At Tmobile they will issue a new numbrer.
The good things is that some banks and services detect this is real mobile line, and not VOIP giving you extra credibility .
