Silvergate's email to me in 2017:
"I regret to inform you that your request for an account at Silvergate has been denied by our Compliance team. There are a number of potential factors that could have led to this decision. Unfortunately, it’s a bit of a ‘black box’ for me too. Considerations include operational risk, regulatory risk, reputational risk and compliance risks.
Thanks for your patience with this process, I wish that the outcome would have been different."
