Registration of a Company in the US From Outside the US

I want to register a company in the US. Delaware to be specific. I'm not in the US. I'm from there and I don't intend to return soon if at all. Do I really need to go back to the US to register a company/nonprofit since I don't want to go through a company to file the paperwork for me. Filing paperwork and paying fees isn't difficult.
