The perps were caught immediately, I don't think people realise just how much data is passively transferred through the networks these days, that's why the Feds all have their own nodes running to collect.
Just pulling prices for apps, provides the wallets, the values, and the IP addresses (think Ledger or mobile apps etc), and that's before you consider sending funds where it's collating localised information.
All of this information is now made available to the authorities.
