I read that USA consider using LTC in the future which means the coin should rise drastically in price.

What's your thoughts about LTC / litecoin ? do you think it can reach 200$ in the very near future or do you think the USA will stick to BTC as they also consider.

where did you read it?
I think the US mafia and lobbyist are capable of just about anything but LTC doesn't make any sense as BTC is the same beast and in two orders of magnitude better position, XRP can make a play and bribe the right people (which is apparently going on), ETH or SOL have a chance to be get shilled as "advanced technology" - but LTC has zero leverage in my eyes and I would believe more in some crazy scenario like Elon pushing dogecoin for some twisted reason

I think LTC is better than BTC and would perform better than BTC if it had the same network effect. I like LTC because mainstream vendors who accept crypto will usually accept LTC and I can enjoy lower fees and ease of use than the slow, bumbling BTC. If say, Amazon began accepting LTC for payments and not BTC, yes it would likely go up. LTC would certainly make a better payment method than BTC. But there are also better coins than LTC.

A successful cryptocurrency adopted by the likes of Amazon would have to have almost zero fees and instant payments. Basically how Visa cards are like now. Maybe LTC developers should work on making this LTC's niche.

Well it will reach $200 for sure if the overall market continues to grow. The question is what do you consider "very near future"?

P.S Anything and everything can and does move crypto prices. Even a tweet from Trump about LTC on Truth Social could make it jump 50% or more....lol.

I am personally both surprised and annoyed it is still alive, let alone outperforming many majors.
Fundamentally, it's a cheap knockoff of bitcoin with no superior tech to offer...

A lot of young kids use it as its fast and has low fees and its quite integrated into e-commerce payment gateways because of this. The best tech does not always win the race sadly.

specifically LTC can hardly be considered a better tech compared to BTC - there is not enough hash power behind the network hence not secure and it would end up with similar fees like BTC if it had any significance - btw BTC fees are super low at the moment

To be honest, never heard of any young kids using litecoin. I would assume most who even know it consider it a boring boomer dino coin.
I thought young kids were all on solana...
LTC has long been one of the 4 coins supported by some major ecommerce (the other being BCH btw), but I again assumed that was from very old integrations and in the end if onchain usage of LTC is low (and it is low), who would even be those clients using it in real life?
LTC integrated in ecommerce reminds me a bit of TDK advertisement in Oxford Circus, London (don't know if it is still there, but basically, due to long-term prepayment of advertisement sign, it was still advertising a VHS video-tape company in the age of Netflix).
For me LTC is kinda like VHS...
Nearly every day I realize I don't understand crypto (anymore)

Solana is for memecoins but if you got young family members into online gaming etc you will soon see they will be talking about LTC they use to buy gaming related stuff. I witnessed this with family members abroad who wanted LTC for their birthdays as that's what they use online .

Maybe LTC is becoming the Vinyl record of crypto world with a cult following smi(&%. It's not 15th biggest crypto for nothing.

LTC is simple to use, light on fees, and makes purchases painlessly. Exactly what a cryptoCURRENCY is supposed to do. I like it for that reason.

That's what my nephews told me when I explained I can give them one whole SOL instead of one lower priced LTC. Made no sense to my mind they chose LTC but I am not gonna argue with reality on the ground.

I don't appreciate the LTC hate here stupi#21

It is a really good crypto for simple purchases, e-com, etc. because of the minimal fees and simplicity. And I guess it has some benefits thanks to its age and past integrations. But definitely not useless.

People would use BTC to pay because BTC is better but it has large disadvantages for transactional activity – those being that it takes long AF for confirmations and you spend too much on network fees to make usual spending with it make sense.

I prefer XMR – but this is another story ;)

Solana is even cheaper and faster to use than LTC.
Which is why it is so popular for hyperfast, low-value memecoin traders.
UX is better than LTC, fees are lower, also TPS of Solana is orders of magnitude higher than LTC. Thus LTC has no chance to get global adoption. It is only fast and cheap now, because barely anyone uses it. Look onchain for yourself, there is not much real activity there.

Not shilling SOL here, actually I dislike many things about Solana, but if we purely speak about suitability for global ecommerce for speed, price and UX, SOL beats LTC every time

and now guys ask yourself... let say you exit your business and sit on 10M USD - would you put it to LTC or SOL, it's fast, low txn fees, cool tech :D - not one single person would do it to store the fruit of his decade long work
all these cool properties you like so much can persist once these projects become second layers on top of bitcoin - that's why LTC has no chance and SOL has a future if the right decision will be made

All correct about SOL and that's why it has been so successful. But the Litecoin Foundation has been successful in marketing and having LTC infiltrate gaming etc. Solana has been good for memecoins with third parties launching platforms around it making it easy to use for memecoins.

exactly, this perfectly describes where we stand and what all these "altcoins" really are... good money doesn't need marketing, it's used because it represents the best asset to conserve value and transfer it through time and space

Agreed on all counts. Would definitely prefer everyone was on XMR too, it's what BTC was supposed to be. It needs to be more user friendly though, I don't like that block syncing business for one thing. LTC is better on that front.
