Unfortunately, I must assume that this entire story has been fabricated and is an attempt to deceive our community.

The user "Jafo" has contacted me several times over the past few days, claiming that he simply don’t have time for all of this. Yet, he seem to have plenty of time to write about being unable to DM, insisting there must be something wrong, despite the fact that the contact form on the forum can be used.

I advise everyone reading this thread to take both this and the other referenced thread with a grain of salt. Take it for what it is, and avoid investing further emotions into the matter.

Personally, I’m not making any judgment about the accuracy of anything posted and will not engage further in the discussion. I also won’t make any changes or spend more time on this!

What the f**k is going on here?

One thing I find suspicious, if @imissyou is a troll, with the saddest and most pathetic life known to man, why didn't Jafo post there to let us know he's a troll?

At the same time, judging by reading his posts, he didn't seem sick at all, and @imissyou never responded to any of the messages, which makes the claim also suspicious.

I guess this case nicely demonstrates that the "truth" cannot be decided and that we shouldn't trust what we read, hear or see online whenever something is at stake

inevitably we will end up very soon with a bluetooth device on our wrist, finger or in the glasses.that contains our private key (btw perfect synergy with bitcoin hw wallet and sensible replacement for the endless number of stupid passwords) and all the signup forms for online services will change to simple publishing of the public key
whatever one says to the world can be signed and verified by the consumers of such a message - asymmetric cryptography is here for 50 years and now with the onset of AI it presents the only solution to the online identity problem, at the same time all the experience from the cryptocurrency world like multisig, chained signatures, timelocks, covenants and many more makes it more feasible than ever... huge business opportunity

Absence of presence doesn’t equal to presence of absence.
While @jafo’s fate might never be fully observed, like Schrödinger’s cat, indulging in hauntology makes no good to OCT and its users.
Remember: the web is not real life.

Of two minds.

- Attention Seeking?
- Trying to Leave a Forum he is Emotionally Invested In.

I am stumped, always respected his content/posts.

But like mentioned 'Stumped'.

I.e why would someone (a outsider) join with a yarn and at the same time Jafo be silent -> 1+1 = ?

Perhaps, a death of a @jafo was/is a psychological experiment in a controlled environment - an OCT forum.

As I written in original thread, @jafo absence marked the end of an era. I never concluded that a person died.

You may notice that other contributors are also absent or winded down their presence in a similar fashion at the same time.

It's like a Necker's cube phenomenon. The context is what's driving our perception and consequently thinking process.

Or, very simply, the same user operating under multiple usernames! Drop your ridiculous conspiracy theories, the person who started this is an idiot, and maybe it’s even the same user hiding behind several usernames, including "Jafo."

Maybe it’s an experiment, in which case, let’s hope they got something out of it.

I think the explanation is simple, he is probably just busy. I remember before there were times when Jafo only answered and reacted shortly and other times when he wrote very detailed posts especially when someone required help.
We don't know his schedule, if I recall he started writing much less ever since October, and Christmas season must be a very busy for his job.

Sometimes I don't visit this forum for weeks or months too.

@jafo 's contents are unique and interesting, that is why many of us likes to read his posts, but if you are liked by many people usually also hated by some, probably that post was from a forum member who don't like his writing style or whatever, unlikely a stranger would do that.

December might have been a reason for this, it's the end of the year and people are busier or prefer taking some time off the screen. Jafo might've been a bot, it reacted to every message.

A while ago there was a reply to a topic in this forum, talked about how there is a smell of honeypot lingering around. I still agree to that. I'm not saying "jafo" is a part of it but the smell might disagree.
