IFICI (NHR 2.0)

I saw @forward mention IFICI, the successor to Portugal's NHR scheme.
According to my very basic research, it looks a lot like Spain's Beckham Law...? You would basically always need a local job in PT, you can't just live off dividends...?
Has anyone investigated it closer?

Yes, seems you actually need to participate in science and innovation (quite broad):

If you can build a case around your current activity, it makes sense. If not, it will be harder. I would say, it is similar to other talent visas.

Doesn't seem that hard, the service providers probably all have companies that will hire you.
But then you'll have a local salary that you'll have to pay 20% tax on?

20% of 2500 EUR is also 500 EUR. Not that bad.
