Anyone here has experience with Ibkr for long term holding etfs stocks
Do they support third party transfers from owner company bank account?
How safe is ibkr for investing?
Did anyone face issue with compliance?
Do they offer debit card?
How is the account opening process? Uae based clients accepted?
Is there minimum account opening deposit?

What is wrong with my questions. They are all legit

I want to know what is members personal experience with Ibkr
That simple

IBKR is a reputable service provider. Like any financial institution, they perform due diligence on account holders. However, since they only permit first-party transfers, the due diligence tends to be more relaxed than when opening an account that can be used for third-party transactions.

Account opening is quick and easy, but I agree with @avalanche that the UI feels clunky. It doesn't look old but it feels old. Probably an old underlying system and modernizing the UI is given low priority.

AFAIK, they have stopped issuing cards. Maybe still available in some regions, though.

Pls tell me this is a Friday post

I find the UI the best ever: light, no nonsense, fast and completely customizable. Plus, it’s free.
You can even setup a Bloomberg keyboard (which you are technically not supposed to keep when you end the subscription) with all the shortcuts to work with IBKR.

I know you hold a large portfolio with Ibkr
What's your feedback
How is compliance?
Deposit and withdrawal?

I never had any issue. I’ve been using it for like 25 years, in the old days as white label for daytrading and scalping.
Compliance is reasonable as long as you have all your docs in order.
Deposits and withdrawals are possible only from/to the same account holder.

I think there are many reviews about IBKR and they are very positive. Even here, there is not much bad about them in all the posts over the past years.

Of course, you can ask here, but what exactly do you expext? There are people here on this forums that are selling P**N, fakes, and other illegal things, others are screwing governments with Cum-Ex. Do you think anybody wants those as customers unless they pay 30% marging like UBS and CS in the good old days for dirty money? Probably not. IBKR is low-marign, they are interested in proper business with proper people. Proper people have no issues with them as you can see form all the posts in the past.

Can attest that no problem with IBKR. Onboarding was easy (but that was a few yrs ago, not sure if KYC has gotten more strict).
Have owned and held on to various EU-based ETFs for awhile now, never sold anything (so I can't speak for commissions/fees etc). They seem to be as safe as any online brokerage firms (like Robinhood LOL). Granted, I don't have my entire life savings there.
No debit card here, I believe my account is hosted in Ireland?
As far as I could recall, no video calls, just uploading a passport scan, proof of address, just the basics really. Again, this was a few years ago (and I was a refugee from DeGiro, another brokerage where they told me 'we don't serve your kind' ;))
No minimum deposit as far as I can recall (but if anything, please deposit at least 500eur or something to show that you're serious).
Depositing money is also easy, they issue an IBAN for you to transfer money to, and if you tell them in advance (on the app) that you are expecting to transfer XYZ amount, as well as referencing your name & IBKR member ID in the reference section of your sending bank account transfer, you get the funds posted in a couple of hours.
Every year they send a reminder to update your data for compliance purpose, that's to be expected.

Hope this helps!

I don't think so. They do support corporate accounts though.

How is the account opening process?
Probably Cartman received less severe anal probes. I actually gave up on IBKR because of the onboarding process. Waste of time considering how much easier and better crypto is. JMHO.

RTFM. Their website is rather good.

Yes - I am a UAE res (for almost 30 years), and have an IBKR account for maybe 3 years or so now - I honestly cannot remember any minimum account opening amount ................. Maybe US$1000?
