CRS exchange for closed account

Dear members,

I already searched this complete forum for answers, but unfortunately could not find any.

I have a dual citizenship and had 2 accounts, which were emptied and closed in 2017. Now the CRS will become active this year between both CRS countries.

The start of the exchange period is 2019. So only information from that year will be given and beyond.

Will those account still be reported to the other CRS country or am I in the clear?


Some more info:
- Address given was local,
- Dual citzenship copies of ID were made
- Closed before any CRS/KYC were asked (nobody asked me anything ever)

To avoid some confusion, the (African) banks had scanned both of my passports (my african and EU passport)

The address is a local african address.

Will this still not be reported?

Due to the dates you have given no it will not be reported.

CRS is residency based and not passport based. Passport makes no difference.
