Hi,

Being sick of paying stupid taxes and losing my sanity I decided to go for Citizenship by Investment and in January 2020 I was in contact with an agent about it. He requested my passport scan which I sent him after a month I think. And I told him that I will be back in UAE soon but stupid corona lockdown started and it got delayed. Mean while he started emailing me like a 4 year old impatiently and kept asking repeatedly when Im coming to UAE.

I was like what the hell? Dont you know what the world is going through? And he was like you are suspicious, you said you will come to UAE but you didnt come, there has something come up when we were doing background check. He said all this after months when I started trashing him about being a retard and told him to grow up because he is not being realistic about me able to visit UAE when there were no flights at all (this was around the end of the 2020). Then I felt like his company is balls deep in scamming people.

But all this left a bad impression in my head about whole CBI thing. I need to know of any pitfalls on this journey of acquiring second citizenship by investment in any carribean countries.

Do these agents etc blackmail their clients?
Mafia involved?
Should I give up this journey?
Do they take your documents and start blackmailing you about anything?

Please help

The process is done remotely, has been for a while since the pandemic.

Once he had your passport he should have preformed an interpole check.

You will have to provide a copy of a police criminal record check.

Then if that's clear then proceed to full application.

Once you are accepted your passport will be delivered to you by courier or if at worst they may request your biometrics at a local Embassy and you can collect it from there.

That still didnt answer my questions. I fear and suspect they are scamming people and I asked a few questions about it.

And I only sent him my passport scan nothing else, no money, no other paper nothing.

I couldn't say but maybe their company policy is to meet the client face to face.
But why he could have talked like a retard? He knew the world is in lockdown and he was telling me Im suspicious because Im not able to go to UAE? How can he say that? And I see that their agency is still operational!

Ignore him, if you know you are clean. When you are ready there are many reputable companies who can help you. You have lost nothing but your time just block him. To be extra sure they don't do anything with your passport cancel it and get a new one.

Yeah they could be trying to scam you are English may not be their first language perhaps. Also in 2020 I knew people who were applying for company setup in UAE and got pushy desperate junior agents eager for commission I can only guess. You get similar childish behavior from licensed real estate vendors out there too in 2020.

If you want to do the CIB Program go with only agents recognised by the program you choose. St Kitts & Nevis for example provide a list of agents.

One agent listed on the country's website as recognised agent told me I can wrap all up in $100k if I go by property investment route. There will be an agreement that will automatically sell the property to the other guy after 5 - 7 years and I get to keep my citizenship. Do you think its a scam or what? I might be getting paranoid because Im seeing too many scammers around who are out to destroy people for money.

There was a notice sent out in July that no one can sell the program for less than the advertised government rate which is about $160K.

Anyone found to be doing so will be black listed and if they are a sub agent could also have their main agent struck off.

The property purchase is a good option as there is a finance option that can give a rebate but you must pay the advertised rate. Don't bank on the sale in 5 years time as the property will not be as desirable as the new units available.

that's a great discussion . i had questions marks about Dominica CBI too and why such countries allow authorized agents to process your application instead of embassy /consulate seems unreliable to me . this why you have to move with caution because you never know who they are .

To answer OP. No he is most likely not a scammer. These CBI firms in Dubai are like cockroaches, one dies - another one pops up. Their lifeblood is clients, and if they don't have a client for a few months - they go under. All of the sales men in these companies are on commission only or extremely low salary. This is why they are super aggressive with their clientele. I could even go ahead and guess the nationality of the salesperson, but I will not bash on here.

They ask for your passport copy in order so that they can register your interest with the actual CBI agents, this is so that in case you go through the actual agent - they will send you back to this middleman who will charge a 'professional fee'

This is what 90% of Dubai based CBI firms are doing, simply reselling services for a profit. Majority of them are sleazy sales people who chase after clients and try to bargain to the lowest price to outsell their competitors.

Your right to be paranoid. I would choose the more serious of the providers like Dixcart etc. They tell you process from beginning to end and costs involved. Maybe they mean their fee alone is $100k if you go property route o_O.

I suspected that they are the middle bitches for second but they were listed as registered agent on the gov website and that is the only reason I contacted them. I got no criminal records, Im super clean, I travel for work so many times and never anyone said "Come here, you are screwed because you are wanted" lol.... Its just not possible. And his name was arabic, so I dont know if you guessed right.

No they clearly said 100k includes everything and also their fees and the total money I will be shelling out would be 100k and said its around 25k cheaper if I just pay 100k to gov.

Well your instincts served you well in this case thu&¤#.

With a mortgage option yes it is possible to get the St Kitts citizenship for a net cash layout of US$100,000. If there are other family members to be included then the government application fee related to the property investment will increase so it will not be possible to stay below US$100,000
