Citibank - Citigold Account in the UAE

I've seen @Fred mention Citibank a few times on here, so started looking into them as I'm looking for another personal banking option.

Love to hear you thoughts on and experiences with Citibank in the UAE (as a Citigold account holder) or other account.

No experience, but a Citi banker once told me that once you have a Citigold account in one country, you can immediately open one in all other countries where they have a presence. Sounded similar to what I've heard about HSBC.
Guess that could be useful for some people.

Citi UAE service is bad, but all UAE bank service is bad. The Citi UAE Gold service is slightly better. They're generally polite and resolve most issues in a few days to a week. They have only a few branches and not many ATMs in UAE. Also once you achieve Gold status if you withdraw the assets and drop below the threshold, they will give you quite some time to regain the threshold.
