Hello,

I'm currently tax resident in a country with a lot of taxes ( 35%) and a tax residency policy where you become tax resident if you spend more than 183 days / year, which i do.
I was talking with chatgpt to try to figure out if it was possible to become tax resident of another country without having to physically move.

He suggested the following:

CountryTax on Foreign Income? Can You Become a Tax Resident Remotely?Key Benefits
Panama No tax on foreign income Yes, with a bank deposit or investmentNo physical stay required, tax-friendly
UAE No income tax at all Yes, via company setup (Free Zone)No tax, easy setup, business-friendly
Paraguay No tax on foreign income Yes, via Permanent ResidencyLow cost, no physical stay needed
Georgia No tax on foreign income Yes, via Individual Entrepreneur status1% tax up to $155K, no stay needed
Malta No tax on foreign income Yes, via Global Residence ProgramEU access, tax-friendly structure

Sorry for the terrible table formatting, i cannot seem to be able to format it correctly.
So basically my question is, is that true ?

Can i pursue any of those options in those country without leaving where i am currently and switch my tax residency ?

He says paraguay and panama especially have Zero tax and NO visits required

Thank you for your time!

In short, yes you can also become tax resident in another country. But that does not make you not tax resident where you actually live. In the worst case, you'll end up paying taxes in two countries due to the lack of a treaty.
