BitMex's CTO has been arrested and three others including the CEO have been charged for Bank Secrecy Act violations.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission filed a separate civil lawsuit to halt BitMEX’s U.S. commodity derivatives business.

USD-BTC dropped about 3% but BitMex's response looks good, enabling additional withdrawals.

Yes, they even restricted US IP addresses.

Recently I rejected a US investor to invest in my company, nothing illegal, just because too much headache if something goes wrong.
