Bitcoin predictions make no sense. The market is not capitalized enough so it will stay volatile.
This is the only prediction that can be made.
If Bitcoin is the digital gold we will see during the next global economic crisis.
Bitcoin has many flaws, but bad stock-to-flow ratio (~high inflation) is not one of them. This means it is a competitor to gold, although many people do not recognize it as such. So yes, in my opinion it is closest to digital gold we have. Gold will naturally outlast bitcoin, but if bitcoin were to survive just 50 years, it would completely transform the financial system in that time. Potentially bitcoin is the new offshore, as the old offshore goes the way of Mossack Fonseca.
Predictions are useless but fun, so here is mine:
(The next halving of mining reward will take place around May 12-14th). In absence of really negative news, I expect this event to start biting gradually during the latter half of 2020. Because the halving event is at least partially discounted, we might see a bit of a hangover/disappointment, followed by a new ATH only in 2021 or 2022. Moves of +/- 30% take place all the time.
In short:
1. volatility, as always
2. no new ATH in 2020
