Hello, I hope wise people on this forum can advise me. Where do I go for opening a bank account for a Cyprus company owned by Curacao company with a Curacao sports betting license? I live in Cyprus permanently, I have EU passport and I am pretty sure local banks like Bank of Cyprus will not work with this. Normally I could travel for opening bank account in person but nowadays the whole EU is on lock down due to corona virus, please advise

Hi,

Does EMI (Electronic Money Institution) suit you as well? You would find yourself with many more options. I couldn't give you one answer which EMI/Bank would be the best option for you, because some details should be considered as well, such as - full business description, expected turnover or countries for the incoming or outgoing transactions, etc.

If you wish, send me an email and let's find it out.

Maybe you should wait until things get into normal again. You can also contact HB Management in Curacao who you may know if it is real that you hold a valid Casino license in Curacao.

We have many hear that say they are 100% legit and hold various license for their business. At the end of the day it either went out they don't have one or they have something that won't work.

What do you mean if I hold a real license?
A Curacao gambling license is always a sub-license. I have seen people selling licenses there that has no value becuause they do not have the right to issue one.

Some years ago I did more or less this setup. A Curacao company with a gambling license and a Cyprus daugter company. Banking is the hard part in a setup like this, but we got an account in Germany. I seem to remember that Cyprus banks were difficult, but you can always get an EMI that works.

It really sounds like you guys have some experience in this field  Anyway, as I already pointed out here, you want to take contact to HB Management in Curacao and let them help you. If the license is valid you can get a bank account in Cyprus I'm sure.

Banks in Cyprus don't take this anymore. It'll take a small miracle for that to happen. EMI and a handful of higher-risk banks are the only realistic solution.
I can only repeat, please take the time and consult the firm I already refered to here, don't take verything you read here for granted. There is no guarantee, but if you have a REAL professional setup it is possible to get a bank account in Cyprus.

Right, I was not hoping for a Cypriot bank. I came here to ask what banks might accept me

I don't take anything I read for granted until I verify it 10 times. I found some website for this company, but I am not sure if it's the correct one. Can you PM me the url?

So you will be suprised @Sols - your post just show you don't had any contact to them before nor do you know this company. I know them personally and I know what network there is behind it so I had a close cooperation with them in the past.

Just accept that you don't have the answer always, it's okay and not something to shame about - link removed btw.

Sols is right as in there is 2 or 3 real Curacao licenses... but they all give out sub-licenses. Probably cost you 10-15k USD max to get this all set up and if your paperwork (minimal) is in order probably takes about 7-14 days (in regular times).

Admin is also right, HBM is very very established and respected in Curacao + worldwide in this industry. If anyone can set get you set up with banking with such a set up it would be them.

Curacao license is pretty much bottom of the barrel worth jackshit if you are a start up. Expect to get rejected from almost anywhere from casino providers, processors, marketing platform to EMIs and BANKS.

Yes, there are some bigger sites using this garbage license (1xBET family etc..) but they push serious volume so when they sit at a table and ask for certain services they get a pass. As a startup I wish you luck.

Maltese license which would be a step up from Curacao is going down the same road, its a matter of time. Malta license holders can't even get maltese banking anymore! LOL

Another member on this forum that may be able to help you is fshore, I have no relation to him but he knows his stuff when it comes to gaming also.

where did you try a already to say there is nothing reliable?
second that question, wonder what banks you have approach or if you have been using some agent to help you, if so, who?
