Hi,

I came across this bank Baltikums Bank - accounts and investments for corporate and private banking clients. Fast, convenient and safe online services. which is Baltikums Bank, they have live chat online so it's easy to get an answer to your question. You may already have guessed what my first question was :) !

Correct, is it possible to open an account with your bank remotely, means without personal visit?

Here is the answer:
In case of our bank, we do require at least one personal meeting for identification and documents verification. However, if the travelling to our Head office, in Riga with a purpose of account opening would not be comfortable for You, we could arrange a meeting with one of our representative agents depending on Your current location.

That means they want to have an introduce to open the account for them if you are unable to visit them in Riga!

Anyway they seems to be very helpful and willing to get some business into their bank. I have asked them additional questions in matters where they have "agent's" available to meet with, I wanted someone in Italy and other places in Europe, they will e-mail me :)

So they asked where my company is located and I told them in places like Cyprus, Belize and Mauritius and they are fine with it.

Seems we have a great alternative for European offshore banking if we are willing to travel.

Well, as far as I have been informed they only accept European companies i.e. Cyprus, UK and so forth, so there is a requirement for personal visit with one of their branches and you need to deposit aprox EUR 2000 to start with.

However, they are Adult Entertainment friendly but not gambling, online casinos etc.

Found them mentioned a few times around here on the forum. They seem to be good. only downside of the medal is that they require you a personal visit in one of their branch this is a big turn off!

For me they look pretty good. I have yet to get all the documents collected which they require and find some way to visit them. They told me they had someone local that I could visit insted of going to their bank but they don't want to tell me who this is!! This sounds a little shady to me.

By the way, is there anybody who opened a bank account there?

I wonder how the multi currency accounts work. If they provide only one IBAN. I don't see how it is possible to receive USD account. Do they have also a routing number like US banks?
