Which part of the LTR tax free status do you think is not actually tax free? I am genuinely curious, since I'm thinking of going for it soon?

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

Is there a special tax rate if you use Thai exchanges? As far as I know you still need to pay up to 35% PIT(depending on your income) however the exchange needs to withold 15% and then you pay the rest no? Or is the 15% final tax?

If this does get voted in, it wouldn't be for 2025 but maybe for 2026 or onwards right?

Even if in theory 650k out of that 750k I transfered in 2024 was from money that came into Bank 1 was 2024 sourced, its still tax free, since 750k matches my NW at the end of 23'? Thank you!

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

Hey @wellington I have a bit of a weird question for you, since you are quite knowledgable about this type of stuff. Lets say I had the following on 31st Dec 2023: IBKR : 250k Bank 1: 100k Bank 2: 400k Total 750k on the 31st of Dec 2023 Lets say in 2024 I moved some funds around, or sold a...

Planning to invest 500k$ for LTR so definitively need to know in advance what the actual net amount will be - 5%, 10% or 35% :) I'll try going to their head office next month to get an official answer. Sadly most of my NW was made this year so can't use previous years savings

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

I do understand your point, but my idea is if an official tells me in writing I only have to pay 10% tax, it can prevent another official in the future disputing my tax return and saying I need to pay up to 35% :)

Did you go to the main office? I went to a Area office in Bangkok and couldn't get anything done sadly, the only person who spoke English was an entry-level position employee, and even though he tried to help with my questions he ended up advising me to go to the main office. I've paid 3...

Thai Tax Residency: Still possible to do it with zero or minimal tax?

I think they would be taxed on the PIT brackets, the 10% is only from dividends from Thai companies, but I could be wrong.

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

I'm currently on Elite and have a year and a half left, but thinking about finally pulling the trigger on buying property here and getting the LTR visa would potentially save me a lot of money on taxes over the next 10 years. I definitively see the appeal of SG for kid's education, I'd...

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

From my understanding you do have a lot of Thai Assets (house etc?), and you would overall fit the Global Wealthy Citizen LTR criteria, why not just get the LTR visa and remmit funds tax free? Do you think it will change in the future, where the priviledge of tax exemption on remmited funds...
