Hi,

I'm an EU resident and the sole owner of a US LLC. I'm trying to open a business account with InteractiveBrokers and they ask for a "Proof of Principal Place of Business Address" on my EU address. I provided them a document with the address of the registered agent but I received the following message:

"The principal place of business address listed on the application and in the document submitted, appears to be that of a registered agent`s address as there are no officers or owners located at that address. Therefore, the submitted document cannot be accepted as a proof of principal place of business address. Please reply to this email and confirm the physical address where daily activities/trading of the company are carried out along with a proof of business address in the name of the company. If daily business operations take place at any officer/owner`s home address, please provide the residential address as the company`s business address and a Proof of Address document in the name of the officer/owner to verify the operational address."

Is there any way to get such a document?

Should I became lifelong friend with Photoshop? There's no other way?
sure, ask your agent to help you to establish substance as it is what they ask for. Costs may apply, but it is how many are doing it now a days.

IBKR indeed uses some cutting-edge solutions.
You can't verify your account from home even if you are in the same country; you need to take your mobile, enable location sharing and then take a selfie from the office.

I finally managed to get my account approved but I’m a bit worried about future checks. Do anyone have any experience with small business accounts, what documents do they ask yearly? What happens if I cannot provide them?

Is this actually true? Can anyone else confirm this?
I don't have an account with IBKR yet but I plan on making one for my llc in the near future.

this was never the case, but recently it happened to me on one of the corporate accounts where I had to re-KYC myself, was quite shocked to be honest.

In any case, isn't it possible to spoof GSP Signal on your phone quite easily. Simple google search gave me a pretty good reddit thread and a YouTube video.

I remember spoofing gps location was quite popular during pokemonGO frenzy, so lot of tools available.

It's actually quite easy. I was just wondering if they’re getting THIS strict with everyone else, or if this was a once-in-a-blue-moon event.

Even with something like GF-II GF-BT https://www.gfaker.com/product/gfaker-gf/ - this seems pretty solid
Yeah pretty sure also. It probably uses https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libimobiledevice to mount a developer image and then use the "com.apple.dt.simulatelocation" service to change the location . It uses Lockdownd (daemon for interacting with ios device ) to communicate (https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_24281131.html) . It's

Here you can see the "com.apple.dt.simulatelocation" which is only available when a devleoper image is mounted . And this will be probably detected by https://developer.apple.com/documen...cationsourceinformation/issimulatedbysoftware

Very interesting. So there is no reliable way to spoof it?

I don't think without jailbreak you don't have an option . You could use Frida if you have jailbreak , then it's pretty doable but you would to bypass all the jailbreak detection mechanisms.
It will always be detected by isSimulatedBySoftware (https://developer.apple.com/documen...cationsourceinformation/issimulatedbysoftware)
Even when it's now done differently in IOS 17+ to spoof your location . It's still will be detected .
If it's done via a different method like with this product https://itoolss-store.sellfy.store/p/gaming-joystick-25-only-us/ . You could still detect it by isProducedByAccessory (https://developer.apple.com/documen...cationsourceinformation/isproducedbyaccessory).
So without jailbreak I don't see an option .

I didn't really understand the part about taking selfie from the office - they ask you to go the location of the office address?
Let me correct myself, it was actually the other way.
I was in the company office, but couldn't verify myself because they required for me to verify myself from the declared home address.

You can use your personal address in your home country as address of business operations.

You can provide a personal bank statement for example to prove it.

This way you can also reduce your withholding taxes if your home country has a tax treaty with the US.
