for 95% of cases SED drive is the right solution - totally transparent and efficient, no expertise needed
for serious use (intellectual property protection, strategic business information, investigative/political stuff, and criminals of course...) on Windows I would add Veracrypt on top of SED...
that's a perfectly sensible strategy - you hold BTC forever (for yourself and your successors if you want) and liquidate only what you need to spend for consumption/pleasure/needs or venture with a potential to beat BTC (good luck though)
veracrypt is a good conservative solution which is a bit more resource consuming
modern NVMe SED drive and use of sedutils before OS installation is the best choice in my opinion (unless one doesn't trust the vendor...)
I guess there is some space for the banks in future - custody of bitcoin for those who cannot do it themselves is pretty straightforward - nevertheless whoever is capable of having a child and taking care of it is probably able to self-custody bitcoin
start a poll and my guess is you'll find out that your view is the exotic one here
there is way bigger opportunity (if not necessity) than the risk itself
strong opinions and well-meant advises have no value unless they are backed by one's resources and risk - so once again boys... what did you do? what are you willing to lose? pathetic
different people have different preferences and utility functions - those who run away have no capital, seeking opportunity to survive, "rich" Europeans with capital seeking freedom and escape from being raped to support the first group - endless flow of energy in endless forms
